This is the guy you want fabricating your bespoke StabiX build.

One of New Zealand’s best sports shooters and a world class welder. Stu is a master.

For 20 years Stu worked alongside his father on small boat builds under 5 meters at Stabicraft until his father retired in 2018. Stu then moved into welder training for a couple of years passing on his knowledge and skills to apprentices starting their boat building career.

Jumping into a new role at StabiX, Stu was excited about ‘going back into that small team environment’ it would offer. He was up for the new challenge it would provide, and felt like a ‘natural evolution’ to his boat building journey.
“You’re building something for an individual that will be recognised for years to come. It's exactly what they want. Your name sort of goes on it, it makes you proud of what you’re doing as far as workmanship goes.’

Outside of StabiX “I do a lot of hunting and fishing. We’ve got a big Stabicraft and use that as a caravan on water with its sleeping & cooking capabilities. We travel around Fiordland catching fish and shooting deer out of it. If I'm not on the boat, I'm doing clay target competitions.”

Stu represents New Zealand in Clay Target Shooting, where in 2014 he won a gold medal in the five man team, and in the same year was ranked 4th in the world .

Stu’s epic stories of adventures, 25 years of industry welding experience & fine craftsmanship make him an absolute asset to StabiX. This is the guy you want fabricating your bespoke StabiX build.
